Wow, that was beautiful ! and I figure it didn't take you too long to vid this given that Razor is all new so all the more impressive.
I was particularly impressed with the seamless transition, you really played well the the movement of the scenes. Like at 0:36, or the beautiful 2:04. The clip choices are great. I especiallyt liked the "People walk a tight rope on a razor's edge, Carrying their hurt and hatred and weapons" section.
The vid has a really nostalgic and painful feeling with it. Really great vid to start my sunday ! :)

Thank you. I actually downloaded a reair screener that was floating around and I've been waiting for it to air on tv before posting.

The song is much less painful in feel, but I edited out all the uplifting parts to leave it unresolved.

Caprica does look a bit like Atlantis. :)

First of all I'm just psyched at the prospect of finally getting some new BSG vids!!! Not only because I myself am gonna vid it (as soon as that DVD comes out) but because great editors such as yourself are making them now! Yes!!!

That said, I must agree with the comment up top regarding the nostalgic feel of this vid. You can see it in the shots of Kendra that you chose. My favorite has to be that shot of Cain at 0:53. That is so moving.

Also this song. If Razor was a motion picture nominated for an Academy Award, this song would be nominated for Best Original Song. As in, it feels like it was written for Razor. Incredible.

It feels like there's only a handful of really great BSG vids out there, so hopefully the movie spawns some fresh and interesting ones.

I adore the way that BSG is shot. It's almost like a more refined Firefly style. I wanted to use all the beautiful shots.

You blow me away with everything you do. I can't even begin to describe how awesome I find this vid. not to mention, like, WTF--the movie just aired on Saturday! How can your vid be that good in such a short amount of time! I hate you a little for that, but oh my god, I admire you all the more.

I downloaded a pre-air screener of it a week or so ago. The editing took two days, then I just waited until it aired to release it.

I'm glad you liked the texture. I quite like using textures on my vids now. :)

Yeah! the texture, I didn't notice it really until about half-way through (because I'm just that slow) and then on the fourth re-watching I realized how it's subtly is what makes it amazing. I mean, the vid is grimy just like the shoooow.

Very nicely done vid. The first Razor vid I have seen and the investigation of Kendra's choices and world view were well matched for this song. Very tired and saddening vid-you really got the feeling that Kendra was tired of carrying the weight of the actions the world required of her. Very artful.

The rhythm/pacing of this pulls me in and doesn't let go. I thought the way you changed the coloring complimented the sound of the song really well. It makes the source feel much more nostalgic. "There ain't no reason things are this way" on Cain and Gina is gorgeous and more heartbreaking for me here than on the show. I though the whole sequence from "razor's edge" through that section was really stunning. And your continued/echoed movement from one shot to another hits me perfectly throughout the whole vid.

This is a beautiful vid and is definitely one of the most emotional I've seen from you. I loved the coloring, it gave the whole thing a kind of grungy feel that complimented the music very nicely. There's some really nice work with cross-dissolves too, like at 2:15. The song choice is inspired; I almost thought it was written for Razor. Fantastic work as always, I'm crossing my fingers that you'll be bitten by the BSG vidding bug again. :)

Thanks for commenting. I've been trying to connect more with the subjects of my vid to get more emotion across.

I added a texture layer over the vid to give it that grunge look.

I don't use crossfades often, so ii was an experiment that hopefully helped me learn.

When listening to the song I can't believe it wasn't written for Razor.

I have 5 ideas right now, but I think I'll be waiting for the final season to end before starting on them. :)

Wow, you really captured the Pegasus and Kendra’s POV. Certain lines just hit for me. I really like at around minute 1:20 the way the lyrics are cut with “It could be a bomb or a bullet or a pin,” and at minute 1:52 with the line “suffocating slow.” If that line’s not Kendra, I don’t know what is. Everyone has said it but this song, this song! They say song choice is everything and they’re right, just this one line got me on my 3rd viewing, “Slavery stitched into the fabric of my clothes.” That’s the Pegasus too. Excellent, excellent choice.

I want to say the vid made me happy, but no. It rightly captured the despair, hopeless determination of one Kendra Shaw. Like the above commenter, I hope you keep vidding for BSG.

Thank you! And I'm glad I asked because I love it as I suspected I would after seeing some old recs. You really captured Kendra's quiet anger here but you did an especially beautiful job meditating on the relationships between these women in a way that sort of gutted me. So a very late bravo!

This is really powerful. It's been a while since I saw Razor, but I think you captured Kendra's quiet despair perfectly, with lines like "suffocating slow." And I absolutely love how Kara was brought in at the beginning and the end, when Kendra spares her. And the pigeon with a broken wing is both perfect in context, and, as chaila43 points out, oddly appropriate. ;) Excellent work!

And um... Wow! This vid is so very good! The imagery and the song are just perfect!

I have watched it twice now and there are moments that hit you over the head with their awesomeness; and then there are subtle moments like 'A window and a pigeon with a broken wing' and the flash to Kara that you catch on the second time round.

Anyways, this vid is brilliant and you did such a wonderful job with it!
