In the name of procrastination, I'm succombing to the masses and gakking the vid commentary meme from Nicky and everyone else on my flist.
If you want commentary on any of my vids; if you're curious about my vidding processes, hairpulling, or goals; or questions about editing, effects, and whatnot, then post a comment and I'll get back to you. Seriously, if you let me, I will go on and on about vidding.

Date: 2007-10-19 03:28 am (UTC)For the most part the song nags me until I vid it. With Stronger Forest, Rockafellaskank, and The McKay Song I was introduced to them on a musical appreciation level before I considered vidding them. I knew I wanted to vid Hyperpower, Ramalama (Bang Bang), God's Gonna Cut You Down, SexyBack, Silent Night, and I Hear the Bells, as soon as I heard them. But for Volcano and For the Damaged Coda I had a concept and thought back on my music library to find something that would suit what I wanted to do.
Mostly, I start off with the song and what I want to say comes after, but Stronger Forest was an extreme departure from my usual process. I clipped out and watched all of the Sylar parts of season one and came up with a map of what I wanted to cover and where I wanted to go. I had been listening to Stronger Forest around the time when I got the urge to do a Sylar vid. I had my list of what I wanted to do, but I was unsure of the song to use until it hit me that the song I had downloaded previously was be perfect.
