Yuck, I've been on the verge of being sick all week with a sore throat, stuffy nose, etc, and now I'm full blown sick, but I can't miss any classes because I'm teaching a lesson tomorrow and there's a paper due. Thank god Spring Break is next week because I'm going to need it.

Back in my fanforum days I went by misery chic, which came from a quote in "The Misery Chick" 1x13 of Daria way back in 1997: "You're one of those misery chicks, always moping about what a cruel world it is, making a big deal about it so people won't notice that you're a loser." For my original user name I dropped the letter k because I don't like the letter. I can't remember why, but there was drama and I stopped being on FF. I just logged into my old account and it said I last logged in 08-16-2004 at 08:33 AM. That is a seriously long time ago.

There was a user in the lj vidding community named misery chick, so I decided to change mine a bit and ended up adding the kiki onto the beginning. It comes from Lib who used to call me Kiki because of the movie America's Sweethearts. There's a scene I would reenact for her that would make her laugh, so she started calling me Kiki for a bit and it stuck:

Kiki impersonating Gwen: Kiki? Kiki-kins? Is that smoke? Is someone smoking? Is someone smoking within a six-mile radius of where I'm standing? Stop them, Kiki! Stop them! Kiki, my butter has touched another food! I need new butter!

My username is so bland and obvious. If I made a post about it, it would be one sentence. Brad + computer. OK, so not even a sentence.

Recently I googled my full real name to make sure none of my fannish online things came up and my username to make sure my real name didn't come up. I used a few variations to cover all the bases for the username and when I put in misery chic and it's now the term used for famous people adopting babies from Africa! That sucks.
