On October 13, Michelle M. Murray, 25, of Painesville, Ohio, reportedly pleaded guilty to abandoning 33 cats in two Ohio parks in September.
I just saw it on the news. The judge ruled that she has to spend tonight in the woods. No water. No food. No shelter. It's snowing and cold. She didn't even take a hat.
ETA: Then she has a 15-day jail sentence next week, 3 years probation, can't have pet for 3 years, $3,200 fine Lake County Humane Society, $500 to Lake Metroparks.
Some articles say 40 instead of 33. They were kittens. Nine died. She made two different trips on two different days.
"How would you like to be dumped off at a Metropark late at night, spend the night listening to the coyotes coming upon you, listening to the raccoons around you in the dark night, and sit out there in the cold not knowing where you're going to get your next meal, not knowing when you are going to be rescued?" Cicconetti asked Murray. "That's what you're going to do."
I have to download "Veronica Mars" because the stupid local tv station put up a weather warning and messed up the audio completely. Instead of just a beep over it. About a minute of the episode is silent. It was the part where they explained stuff too. And the rest of the episode audio goes in and out. Poopey.
