Rory is Amy's boyfriend who people liked because he was goofy and a bit scared but loved Amy lots and wanted a pony tail and to be a doctor in a village full of old people.
Honestly I liked him but I'm not really that broken up over his death. I kind of thought him and Amy loved each other lots but wanted totally different things out of life.
what i want to know: i thought time travellers were supposed to keep remembering the people who get eaten by the cracks... or did i miss something? didn't eleventy say something like that in one of the angelepisodes?

I think The Doctor is the one that created the cracks, probably accidently, rewriting history and editing it. The cracks of sucking in things and erasing their existence from time entirely. Time travler's brains aren't effected in the same way because their timeline isn't linear. The TARDIS might have something to do with it too.
My guess, based on the piece of the TARDIS he found in the crack, is that the TARDIS itself is the "big bang" that causes the crack -- she'll go kaboom at some point later in the season.
Ohh, I didn't think of that. I like the TARDIS so much, I never considered it as what caused it. I thought the time and place where the crack led was devastated completely and The Doctor pulled out the TARDIS piece.
*hmms some more* i think it's also got something more to do with amy, and... i'm really bad at making up theories, but it's been forever since i've looked forward to dw as much as right now! i wanna know D:
I'm not sure how Amy works into it, but there's something about her. Her name change, the duck pond, how The Doctor came back when she was a child, but they didn't show it.
