After a ridiculously long period of trying to fix my laptop, Chuck, I'm getting a new one.

I think I'm going with the Samsung - Laptop with Intel® Core™ i5 Processor - Red/Black. Has anyone has bad experiences with it or want to rec a different choice? I'm using it mainly for vidding, internet, and word documents.

Just want to say that my whole family (including me) has Samsung laptops and we yet have to run into any kind of problem with them. The battery life on mine was stated as 2 hours with XP when I got up but after I upgraded to Win7, the battery life has been extended to about 3-ish hours when all I do is surf the net and type. My dad got his almost 3 years ago and the battery is still as good as on day one. So I can only recommend Samsung laptops :) I love mine for vidding!

I love samsung laptops except for one thing: they often (not always, but often) put the Fn key in the bottom left position where Ctrl should be and slide Ctrl to the right to be next to it.

This is really irritating until you retrain yourself to not press Fn+C when trying to copy text.

So yeah, you might want to look for photos on the net of the keyboard to see if this is the case and to see if you care or not.

Thanks! I went to Best Buy tonight to pick it up and played around with the display. It seems like a great laptop and the keys probably won't bother me after a while. :)

I didn't actually get it the laptop though. They opened the box and messed with it, then wanted me to pay extra and didn't have an unmessed with box.
