I adore that piece of music from Young Frankenstein. I used to have my aunt play that part of the VHS tape over and over. I totally wore out the tape.

It's wonderful, isn't it? I think the film is such a great comedy because it's rooted in pathos. That piece of music is sad and haunting, and I still sometimes want to cry for the monster. It's the same reason Galaxy Quest works: real stakes.

I watched it before I was old enough to get all the jokes. Going back and watching it was strange because it was like a different movie.

I felt awful for the monster too. :(
