summary:
You have conquered and I yield.
Yet henceforward art thou also dead - dead to the World, to Heaven, and to Hope!
In me didst thou exist - and, in my death, see by this image, which is thine own, how utterly thou hast murdered thyself.
-Edgar Allan Poe

The movie itself is fantastic and well worth the watch for the reveal. The movie is a beautiful study of mood and atmosphere that creates a tense and worrisome horror movie. If you're going to watch them movie, don't read this last part.
but it feels like she's been replaced, having killed her double or her real self or part of herself, like she walked away and somebody different came back. So, like I said, compelling!
The double from inside the mirror killed the woman, but was in the car crash and was disoriented, so she fell into the original woman's life. Other people around her are being replaced and acting weird around her, but it's all subtle and brillantly done. She doesn't remember any of her life beyond what she's told and bits and pieces, going along and trying to figure out what's going on. She ends up at her apartment, which she didn't know about, thinking she lived with her boyfriend. She find the original's dead body and everything comes back and she's back to EVOL mode.
