putting the smart in SmartFTP

Welcome to another thrilling addition of "Me vs. Technology" where I battle my own stupidity and beg for smarter people to help me. I'm trying to upload my CVV vid to the VVC server. I'm using SmartFTP, but it won't connect. I tried to work my google-fu, but I didn't find anything to help. This is a copy the log that I've been getting everytime I try:

I had to use: "Filezilla Client" in order for it to work. I never used SmartFTP, so I can't help you there :\

As far as I know SmartFTP is no longer free. You can get a free evaluation for 30 days but then you have to pay for either the home edition or the pro edition. Check out the website. > http://www.smartftp.com/purchase/

I have the trial version. Could that be what's wrong?

If the trial period has run out then maybe, yeah. I had to delete my installation for the same reason.

I don't think that's it because it says I have 26 days left when I start it up.

Yeah, I only use an FTP at VVC time. I had trouble with it last year too. I find some way to screw it up every year.

I tried a couple of things on there and I think I've caused more problems. LOL. I'll try a different program tomorrow. Thanks!

The problem is that you used the wrong port..
Instead of using 22 you should have used 21

22 is an SSH session
whilst 21 is for ftp ;)
