Hehehehe this is the coolest thing ever. Lots and lots of insights into what you were doing, and I loved that you slowed bits of it down so we can see the layers better.
I laughed so hard when you pointed out the toilet seat. And the plastic on the chairs. And Mohinder was in Sylar's bedroom! Hee!
My mother watched it and the only thing she said was that I should have taken out the toliet. *headdesk* The plastic on the chairs creeps me out ssssoooooo bad. I had a great aunt with those and I hated the way it sounded when you moved.
Fascinating, easy to follow, very articulate. I love *seeing* how other vidders think, how they reach their conclusions, define their motives. [memories]
oh my.. this is sooooo interesting !! I can't emphazise enough ! I'm a big fan of DVD features because I love listening to commentaries and stuff to see what's behind the creation. This is FASCINATING. Thanks for making it ! I think everyone should do that ! it should be vid-release requirement ! ;)
Same here. I found that fascinating. I think you had a marvellous idea and I'm thinking about doing it for my next vid. It's an interesting exercice. :)
It's a great experience. I got pretend I was supercool. I think it's a great excerise for vidders that want to look at a vid they've done. Talking about it aloud made me think even more than I did when it was just in my head.
Wow. I am so glad you did this. It's like taking the meta and upping it one level. So professional! And like I said in the original vid post, I don't even watch Heroes but I loved this vid and having now listened to your thought process behind it makes me even more awed by it. And I'm so gonna have to do this commentary business myself. I just haveta find where the hell I have a mic on my puter, lol!
Yay, after I did it I debated posting it because I felt dippy, so I'm glad I did. I don't have a mic on my computer either. Half of it I recorded my on cell phone and e-mailed to myself and the other half I recorded with my mp3 player.
I think incorporating elements used in fanart (like textures, brushes, text, etc) is going to be a new thing in vidding. I can really see vidders getting into using the same techniques and ideas that fanartists and icon makers are.
Heh - I recommended this to one of the pro video editors where I work, and later today it showed up on the national corporate video email list as a recommended link for online video editors within the company. It's the company that owns USA Today.
My voice is so awful though. I don't know how my pre-schoolers can stand listening to it, let alone video editors listening to me geek out on vidding. :)
I had specifically avoided mentioning your voice because I couldn't think of any appropriately flattering way to describe it that didn't sound wrong coming from someone who's old enough to be your dad. :P
WOW. Not only is this the coolest idea, but your brain is a very impressive place. I am completely blown away by how much you put into this vid, both in terms of tech and thoughts. This is absolutely incredible. Thank you so much for sharing it with us.
I'm really interested in seeing this, but Imeem seems completely opposed to working with my internet connection. Is there any way I could get you to upload this somewhere else? I'll do...something for you back.
This was recced all over my flist so when I found some spare time I just had to sit down and watch. This was incredibly informative and very entertaining. I've been (very belatedly) going through your vidding library and am just blown away by how unique and innovative your work is. This commentary was a very welcome peek behind the scenes. This post plus the vid itself (which is probably my favorite Heroes vid ever) put you on my official vidders to watch list. :)
PS: I didn't even notice the toilet until you mentioned it.
