Haha. Yeah, same here - andibeth82 was my default name for everything (including my old LJ) and then for some stupid reason when I got into tumblr and all my friends fell off LJ after years and years, I thought I'd try to be cool and make names that were different and awesome and yeah, should've just kept to the same name I've had since 9th grade.
And I hear ya on the real life thing, it's why my private twitter is all fan pics and kind of vague for real life (I have a public one that school friends etc can follow because. yeah. real life.)
