I am looking at the stars. They are so far away, and their light takes so long to reach us. All we ever see of stars is their old photographs.

In my opinion, the existence of life is a highly overrated phenomenon. Just look around you. Mars gets along perfectly well without so much as a micro-organism. Here it's a constantly changing topographical map, flowing and shifting around the globe in ripples ten thousand years wide. So tell me how would all of this be greatly improved by an oil pipeline? By a shopping mall?

I prefer the stillness here. I am tired of Earth. These people. I am tired of being caught in the tangle of their lives. They claim their labors are to build a heaven, yet their heaven is populated with horrors. Perhaps the world is not made, perhaps nothing is made; a clock, without a craftsmen. It’s too late, always has been, always will be, too late.

Well hell. You've actually done it. You've done what has been on my mind since I started working on Marble House but with visuals that connect the two Doctors even more. I am in awe of your genius and for this I loved your usage of colors. OMFG, that is the most amazing thing I've seen from you (hell, from anyone) in a long time, and i see many amazing things from you. I haven't actually seen this episode yet, though I'm spoiled for the twist, but what a fantastically perfect mixup between Manhattan and the Doctor. The spectre of Mars hanging over the entire vid is amazing. It's...everything this doctor should have been from the beginning. In addition, the music from Koyaanisqatsi that gets played over Manhattan's opening speech and your use of footage of nukes reminds me of the movie, which I ended up watching for a vid project and which is...weird but gorgeous and that music now hits me where I live for Epic, World-Spanning, Time-Lapsing Stuff so it was doubly perfect from a personal perspective.

But anyway, I ramble, and this is amazing, and I must download and watch fifty more times.

OK, I haven't yet watched Waters of Mars, so I can't fully place this in the shifting ethos of the Doctor. but it's really haunting. the grainy, nostalgic effects are so beautiful! and it's a genius mashup -- the image of Mars ties it together perfectly. "I am tired of being caught in the tangle of their lives" is particularly chilling.

I haven't seen either source (well, not all the way through, heh), but this is still very creepy. Foreboding is probably a better description, but it seems like the damage has already been done and no one's learned anything, so I'm leaning towards creepy. :}

That overlay of Mars was an interesting touch. I like the symbolism, and while sometimes it didn't work so well for me visually, other times it was really striking. :D

This is really beautiful synergy that I'm not sure I would have ever thought of on my own, but I can see the Doctor drifting farther and farther into the apathy regarding humans that Manhattan describes so beautifully and hauntingly in the monologue you used. I love how Billy Crudup voiced that - so quiet and soft yet dispassionate. And this was a gorgeous execution of a brilliant idea.

I noticed above that you said you want to make a Watchmen video but don't have a song - well, I was tinkering with making a Watchmen video and the song I was going to use was Half Life by the Sneaker Pimps (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XzULN_uMBBI). It was going to be a video about the Comedian. Just thought I'd toss that out there in case it inspired you! The Sneaker Pimps have a lot of vidworthy songs, actually.

Without your overlay this vid would be a lot less bleak, less withdrawn. It is a spectre, as someone else said, the horror of the Doctor's megalomania hanging over him. This'll stay with me a long time.
