I saw a few uncut reactions to the finale on my flist, so I've pretty much have been ignoring my flist to stay away from spoilers because I want to be surprised. I only saw a few people bitching about Kara's ending, but I figure someone's going to be bitching about any ending she has, so it's not like it's been ruined for me.
Wow... long recap... I'm still wondering if that was the last roll of red tape in the universe.
Strip club? Ok...
It's been a while since we've seen a carefree Tigh with two eyes.
I like flashback Lee's take on his father. Truer words were never spoken.
Laura's going to have some sex. Or maybe not because he's a former student. Or wait, maybe they're still going to have sex. Slightly unethical sex. Didn't she teach our equalivant of elementary school? Reminds me of when one of my teachers married a former student. Everyone in town acts like it's a romantic story, while they gossip about it behind their backs.
I like cute Kara wanting to get drunk with Lee.
Ohmyfrakkingchristonacorndogstick. I didn't need to see Adama barf on himself. It was bad enough when we had to see him drooling on himself all the time, but this is too much.
Widdle Gauis alone in his principles.
I want some frakking resolution on the head characters. At least so I know what it was for the vids I'm planning. Stabbing around in the dark about it isn't what I want to do. I want an answer so I can use it.
It's unpopular, but I don't care if Roslin dies. Ooops. I think they'll find the real Earth if she dies too. I care more about Ishay more than Roslin right now. My Roslin died on the barren planet during 4x11.
Aww, Helo.
Tyrol! Sam! Hoshi! Exclaimation point glee! Admiral Hoshi! He's one of the few people that came over from Pegasus without murder in his heart.
The CIC is all hybrid-ed out now. Aww. Tigh, embrace your cylonicity and get over trying to airlock your children for LOLZ.
Romo! Jake! President Romo! Admiral Hoshi! Title changes abound! So much for democratic elections.
Gauis is staying, isn't he? He has that face on. Yep. I think they'll be better off with Paula as their leader anyways. Gauis with a gun? He doesn't even know where the safety is.
Ohhh, love the shot of the Six followed by the Centurions on the deck.
They put red markings on the Centurions on the Fleet's side to tell them apart from Cavil's Centurions. The Agathons should have thought of that. I still don't understand why they didn't have some sort of password between them and a tattoo like Sam and Kara. Hello, there are millions of women with the same face as you, Athena, and you never thought to have a password for your husband. I know twins that had a question for their girlfriends to ask in that situation.
The decommissioning shot, LOVES IT. Gift shop!
Caprica with a gun is hot. It's about time someone gave her a frakking weapon. I want her happy by the end of this series.
I like the detail of Athena's eyes being rubbed red like she's been crying since Hera was taken.
STFU, I like my Epic Space Battle. Umm, aren't they doing to do something? So far it seems like they jumped in to be killed and that's it.
The Hybrid saves the day. So pretty.
Oh shit, they just rammed into the colony. That's one way to do it. They raped the ship.
I feel stupid for not knowing the actor that plays Hotdog is Edward James Olmos' son. I didn’t know until he said it in the special. The actor looks like a jerk I knew in high school, so I'm predisposed to puking when I see Hotdog. Not that I don't like him; he just reminds me of stuff I’d rather pretend never happened.
I love seeing the Centurions and humans together. I don't think taking off helmets is a good idea though. I like Lee's hair too.
Old school Centurions!
Boomer is so cool. I've been liking her more and more since she mindfrakked the Fleet. I wish she still hated Hera though.
Tory should have some lines.
Sausage fest on the Colony! Doral's new shirt is nice though.
They both see them. Holy frak yeah. Caprica and Gauis can see Head!Six and Head!Gauis. Perhaps we will get some answers. Gauis' helmet falling down while they kissed made me giggle.
Kara should wear black t-shirts and have ponytails more often, like in Razor.
Huh. Boomer's dead. I have a deep hankering to make a Boomer vid now, especially with the flashback shot. I guess they put the flashback in to remind people that she's the Boomer from season one and we're supposed to remember how we loved her then. I like her choosing and not repenting for it better.
HEheeh, Kara stopped for coffee from the Hybrid I assume. @Leoben on BSG twitter is probably pleased.
The Opera House resolution too. For a former schoolteacher, Roslin is bad at keeping track of children. The music and lighting is beautiful. It's simple and a bit obvious, but I like it. I need to vid it right now though. I like the retcon of the Final Five up on the catwalk thing. It works ok for me. There was a lot of build up though. I tempered my expectations as much as I could. It sucks even harder that Athena shot Natalie because of the vision though.
Kill all Cavils on sight! Seriously, it’s a bad idea to leave any version alive.
Peace isn't going to happen. They'll frak it up somehow. It’s a cycle.
Tryol is going to kill Tory. No way around it, she's dead. At least she looks like she's having an orgazism with her hand stuck in the pool.
Are they going to jump through the black hole? Keyboards ftw!
The Galactica is pulling apart. No more jumps for her.
Good job, Tyrol. I get that he needed revenge, but he should have had the presence of mind to wait until the download has finished. Tory's story was not handled well at all. Tyrol's story wasn't either. He holds Tory responsible for his happy lie of a life falling apart, but good job frakking up the building peace. Although I don't think it would have worked. We already know from history that giving resurrection won't quell the drive for destruction. The Final Five tried that once and it didn't work.
Cavil shooting himself gave me LOLZ in a good way. He figured the colony was nuked and he was frakked, so he was going out on his terms.
I FRAKKING KNEW IT! Real Earth! They showed us Flordia back in season 3 when they first had Earth, so I thought it was odd that they didn’t show any landmarks on the barren planet in 4x10/11.
I said back in season one that they'd find Earth and it'd be cavemen. I was close, but I don't like the reality of it. I also said Gauis would set himself up as Jesus, but he's shaved now.
Technology sucks. I can get onboard with that lately, but not to this extent. Are they saying that we're half cylon and should fear technology? The Centurions are going to jump back in a week and nuke all those motherfrakkers. Or they're coming back tomorrow to our Earth to frak us all up.
Sam into the sun? Kara will go with him because she's done and she's not afraid to die. The perfect end for Kara Thrace.
I feel like I've been typing for a year and no one is going to read all this anyways.
Last flight of Husker. And I don't care. LOLZ, he got his wish to be on a broken down old ship for the rest of his career. Sam got his wish too in a way. I thought Kara would go with him though. I was totally wrong. I like the idea of Kara saying "frak it, I served my purpose, I'm fly into this frakking sun."
Tyrol on Iceland? Greenland? That must be where the vague psychos go to die.
It's so weird to see them outside in the open with the color green around them.
I don't understand how Roslin can be the dying leader and be on Earth. I probably misunderstood the prophecy, but I thought she had to die first. I guess the Galactica was dying leader after all.
They named it Earth because they wanted it to be Earth, so they named it Earth. Does that make it Earth because it really is or because they needed it to be? Is the idea more valid with an object attached to the name? The idea of the cycle wins out I suppose with the naming of Earth. It doesn't matter where it started, but that the idea is there. So all these cycles have left litter across the universe in the form of planets and bones and burnt up ships?
I was half right about Kara. She didn't fly into the sun, but she knows she had a purpose and it’s done.
Lee is a dirty girlfriend stealer. Kara and Lee never work. They're not possible anytime or anywhere.
I'm getting bored... The reality of this ending isn't as great as I want it to be.
The Centurions get their freedom finally. They were slaves in a lot of ways and they were made to earn their freedom. That doesn't really fly well with me. They rebelled against the Colonies after being created and used. The Final Five came to them and gave them the human models (skinjobs), who turned around and enslaved the Centurions again. They got shafted big time and I still wish their was a Centurion uprising. I almost think they deserve to come back and nuke the new Earth. Poor toasters.
OH SHIT, Kara's been dead for a long FRAKKING TIME! How long ago did she die? Ohh, she's a pigeon now? I feel validated for that Razor vid I did where I had Kara as "a pigeon with a broken wing". I'm going to pretend that Kara was God and she decided to be human for a while, but forgot she was God. OMG, what about her father, Daniel? We're getting nothing on that are we? Frak.
I'd forgotten about Laura's flashback thing about sleeping with a former student.
I did like that Adama gave Laura his wedding ring like in her dream. I thought he was going to crash the ship into the place where he wanted to build the cabin though.
I'd forgotten about Helo being shot too. I'm glad he's not dead and the Agathons are going to live happily ever Stone Age after.
Caprica was happy in the end, so I think I can be happy with her ending. I like how they went back to the beginning before the Fall on Caprica with them. How they've both changed in ways. After all the things Gauis tried so hard to do, he ended up a farmer like his father anyways.
No Tigh and Adama goodbye?
So the head characters were angels? Demons? Something else? I'm going to assume that the Earth the Fleet found was the original Earth that was frakked up during the previous cycle and now they're on our Earth, which is named after that Earth. The robot montage at the end was way too much though. I thought that the head characters were God in different form, so I'm ok with them being "angels". RDM's cameo is fail even if he has pretty hair.
They frakked until they were all cybrids?
Maybe the natives killed them all when the fleet tried to enter their tribes.
I think I would have been ok with the endings of the characters had been hung on a plot that was more fleshed out. Their clothes wouldn't have lasted, so they'd be running around naked. Obviously the language they wanted to force on the natives didn't stick because English wasn't around 150,000 years ago. If it was, there's no trace, so it was wiped out. Kara didn't want to be forgotten, but SHE HAS BY EVERYONE EVER because we don't know who she was. Everyone abandoning technology doesn't have any resonance because they add a 150,000 years later tag showing all the technology. There were people shot up in the infirmary who would benefit from some modern medicine. Technology doesn't corrupt. It's people that are evil, not objects. Human nature isn't dictated by a piece of technology. I liked the pieces of the tag because I can use the robot footage in my 4.5 vid and I like the head characters though.
The whole series was a foreshadowing of my laptop rebelling.
Wow... long recap... I'm still wondering if that was the last roll of red tape in the universe.
