Drink up, baby
Stay up all night
The things you could do
You won't, but you might
The potential you'll be
That you'll never see
The promises you'll only make

Drink up with me now
And forget all about
The pressure of days
Do what I say
And I'll make you okay,
And drive them away
The images stuck in your head

The people you've been before
That you don't want around anymore
Or that push and shove and won't bend to your will
I'll keep them still

Drink up, baby
Look at the stars
I'll kiss you again
Between the bars
Where I'm seeing you there
With your hands in the air
You're waiting to finally be caught

Drink up one more time
And I'll make you mine
I'll keep you apart
Deep in my heart
Separate from the rest
Where I like you the best
And keep the things you forgot

The people you've been before
That you don't want around anymore
Or that push and shove and won't bend to your will
I'll keep them still

I'll keep them still
Oh-oh

Thank you. The running unicorn was from Blade Runner. It's in the director's cut.

this is so absolutely amazing - i've literally had shivers down my spine, it's heartbreaking and beautiful & clever. perfection, *happy sigh* now i need to go & rewatch it about twenty times...

(and you even made me forget how much i hated that merlin movie with sam neill)

Whoa, thank you.

The Merlin movie was not the greatest thing ever. Queen Mab's make up did inspire my own pretty wild make up for a while.

There really aren't words for how much I love this vid. One of the aspects of the Merlin character that's always interested me is the part where he can remember - not just see, but remember - the future, and this vid did such a wonderful job of incorporating that idea. Definitely my favorite Merlin vid - and up there for my favorite vid, period. Thank you for sharing.

I've been watching this a lot trying to figure out my opinion on it. It's odd as I love the song, but by other singers, and it felt strangely stilted/fast when compared to versions by Elliot Smith and Madeleine Peyroux. I also haven't seen most of the films you used.

That said, the way you cut it made it infinitely clear, and the video grew on me, its complexity wowing me entirely. I love the way you blend the Arthurs and Merlins, I love the way you set up the memories as dreams (oh and how the lyrics fit, whoever the singer). Gorgeous use of the clips.

Thank you. There are many versions of the song. This isn't my favorite one, but I liked the sound and wanted to use a version with a faster pace. And yes, the lyrics fit so very well, I had to use it. :)

OH MY GOD.

Okay, so I am kind of incoherent right now, because I just thought, "Oh, a Merlin vid, I'll have a go, it'll be lovely", and then I actually watched it, and had my mind completely blown, so you'll have to forgive me my little capslock.

Uhm. The layers to this vid, are like some kind of cake, because I didn't notice that there was external footage, and it took me a moment to notice that it wasn't just random fighting footage, it was meaningful, and it completely worked. Which is one of the hardest things to make external footage do, it wants to feel out of place. The song choice is amazing, I adore how you used the lyrics, "Drink up" and "people you've been before" in particular. And the transitions! Okay, now I'm going to watch it again. Really fantastic job!
