Fuck every last one of you. I wish I was a fuckin' tree.
I'm going to the House of Blues tonight to see Chris Isaak and Tristan Prettyman.
Life has been so hectic lately. I worked 3 9 hour days in a row and I'm really not used to working that much. I had an allergic reaction to the new gloves they got at work, so I guess I'm allergic to cornstarch too. While at work I got my pants caught on the metal edge of one of the tray carts and ripped my pants. Thank god for my long uniform shirt and apron. I was closing that night and so many things for closing require bending down. OMG. It was only for an hour, so it wasn't too bad, but hello embarrassing if someone had noticed.
I always thought it was vidcon, but it's actually
vividcon. How did I miss two whole letters? Whatever, they're are now shiny new vids to watch.
I've been keeping up with my vid ideas by adding them to a list, which is something I've never done before. I quite like it and don't understand why I didn't do it before.
Sadly, the vid idea most excited about is one that I can't do for a while, a character study of Deadwood's Joanie Stubbs to Special Death by Mirah. I really want it to encompass her entire character arc, so I'm going to have to wait until this third and final season is completed, as well as the two movies. Honestly, I wish Deadwood could go on a few more seasons and I don't like the idea of them doing movies instead of a 4th season because it will mess with the structure, but I'm willing to go with the flow and see how it goes. I'm sure David Milch will adjust and thrive with the new structure. Anyways, back to the vid. Joanie is one of my favorite characters and so much of her is internalized and so much of the show itself is beneath the surface. Hopefully I'll be able to do the source justice the elegant way that
charmax presents Trixie's story in Bloody Mother and
sdwolfpup presents Alma's in Woman King. They both show how incredibly strong the characters are and how they evolved. I can never reach or imitate their skill, but I can hope to do Joanie's character justice. She's so different from the other female characters, but in the end everyone is the same person going through the same things. For Joanie, and all the women of Deadwood, men are the largest influence over them.
In the same way that I relate to Beaver of Veronica Mars for Blood Red Summer, I relate to Joanie because another time, another place, I could have been them. I can ramble on forever about Deadwood.
I'm about two thirds of the way into a vid for Ronan in Sateda. I just learned how to write add on xmls, so it's vaguely effects heavy with lots of recoloring. It's fun and new for me. With so much life stuff and work going on, I don't have much free time to vid, so when I do, it's a relief that it's not all deep. It's slightly cracktastic, unless you really believe that Ronan is "bringing sexyback", which he is.

For being a California surfer guy, I must say that he is one pale mofo. Must not have to get a tan or something. :)
