I WANT TO GO TO THERE
I don't know if I've ever publicly declared it, but my dream for the last half of Supernatural season five is for it to be the apocalypse. Not the usual last minute prevention, but actual end of the world and hell on Earth for the couple episodes. So reading this about an episode of Dollhouse makes my apocalypse-loving self fill with glee. I've always wanted to see a series go there. Buffy was always able to save the day, Angel was able to hold it back, Terminator comes close with flashbacks, and BSG was all about the end of the world technically. I want to see the WORLD END... on a tv series, then watch the character deal with living in a post-apocalyptic world.
I WANT TO GO TO THERE.

Actually, I believe the whole point was that he wasn't able to hold it back. Or maybe the ending seems less open to me since I'm reading the S6 comics? In any case, there was certainly Hell on Earth.
Otherwise, I agree that that would be awesome. Except for the part where I don't watch Supernatural. ;)

I read the comics, but I don't enjoy them as much as the Buffy ones.

I agree.
One other show is similar to BSG in post-apocalypse storytelling, and that would be Jericho. I have to say it didn't immediately pull me in but it is an excellent series to marathon. Still, it's certainly more apocalypse as destruction of civilization rather than metaphysical apocalypse.

I've had Jericho on my "to watch" list since it's second season started. It's one of those shows I have plans to watch, but haven't gotten the notion to do it. It's on Netflix Instant too, which is the outline of my free time right now. :)
