CREEPY.

I really like the jumping needle juxtaposed with the swishy forest shots. Very ethereal, very creepy. So much packed into a vidlet.

I need to start watching Fringe.

also, I really dig the fades.

I like playing in vidlet form.

WATCH IT NAO!

It's freaky awesome.

EEEEEEE YES YOU DID! I swear, this is what I said to [livejournal.com profile] beccatoria last night: "Someone really needs to vid that episode, it was so creepy and pretty." And then today you DID! And it was gorgeous and creepy and awesome! Love the blurring and the coloring, and the color of the wires really popped too, in an awesome primary color way. And and the creepy, creepy cutting of Olivia looking around in the woods and finally seeing her child self was great. Awesome women chasing significant children in the woods FTW! And those last 4 shots are GOLD. I love the jumble of sleep = her child self = fear.

(Also, how did you get rid of the little network bug? So impressed!)

[ETA: Good god I'm dignified.]

This is beautifully creepy, a nightmare steeped in pastels.

I especially love the way you cut back and forth across her eyes with the drums at :17, and the hard angles that demarcate the waking world at the end.

The episode CALLED for it. I have a major thing for dream sequences and craziness. It lends itself well to tinkering and playing.

I'm probably going to give in and watch the previous season and the beginning of the current one.

Agent Olivia Dunham is my hero.

Ohhh, I just cropped out the logo, but I used a lot of added motion to compensate for it.

Fandom is no place for dignity. GTFO with that.

I visualize my vids like paintings or sketches sometimes, this one felt like a watery pastel painting. :)

God, I love Fringe, it's so pretty to begin with. I just spread some icing on.

Yes, I replied to my own post and then replied to that comment to keep the comment count even. WHAT OF IT?!?!?

[identity profile] gigglemonster.livejournal.com 2010-02-09 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
Oooooh this is awesome! Creepy and beautiful at the same time. Very dreamlike - a perfect fit for the ep!

ps. I don't wanna ruin your comment count lol so can I just say that those pictures nearly set my damn computer on fire! WOW!

[identity profile] kiki-miserychic.livejournal.com 2010-02-09 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks. Fringe is my new brain crack.

LOL, you can totes ruin the comment count for that. And I'd reply to you, so it would even out. (I actually thought about that.)

SMOOOOOKIN to the nth degree!

There's nothing like an Esquire photoshoot to make me perv on ladies.

[identity profile] yahtzee63.livejournal.com 2010-02-09 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
This is awesome -- and it really reminds me what a beautifully filmed show this is, too.

[identity profile] laurashapiro.livejournal.com 2010-02-09 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
Neat! Makes me want to see more.

I have to admit, I've imprinted hard on "Young Frankenstein" and had difficulty decontextualizing the music from it. But this is so striking.

[identity profile] chaila.livejournal.com 2010-02-09 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
I just cropped out the logo

In addition to being very dignified, I am also very smart.

I actually skipped a chunk of this season to jump ahead to this ep because of Olivia/Magic OTP, but will probably go back and catch the rest. The first half of season 1 is okay, but about halfway through I realized it had gotten awesome when I wasn't looking. Olivia ♥

THIS IS THE GREATEST WAY OF SHOWING OFF THE TORVY HOTNESS EVAR!! KTHNX!!!

[identity profile] hollywoodgrrl.livejournal.com 2010-02-09 05:59 am (UTC)(link)
First of all...FRINGE VID(let) FROM YOU!!! \o/

I'm a bit insane about this show right now so it made me super psyched to find this on my flist! (Actually it's funny cuz now I remembered that the reason I got insane re: Fringe was from that Olivia vid you linked to on Twitter! Ah memories.)

The music is super creepy and I love that the coloring is actually significant in terms of Fringe. Red and green lights are thematic for the show! And of course awesome beat editing at :17 and then THE END OMG! Such a powerful conception and realization. Love it!

Moar Liv vids pls!

[identity profile] rustydog.livejournal.com 2010-02-09 07:25 am (UTC)(link)
I was attracted to this by the fact that you used music from Young Frankenstein. I'm so impressed! Great use of the music and your editing is really effective.

[identity profile] vaeltaa.livejournal.com 2010-02-09 03:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Amaazing! Creepy and fascinating, I swear I was holding my breath watching it.

[identity profile] beccatoria.livejournal.com 2010-02-09 05:43 pm (UTC)(link)
<3<3<3

What a perfect cover to use. Tone-perfect for the episode and soooo creepy. I know you'll take it as a compliment when I say your editing is the perfect vehicle for an uneasy nightmare like this.

[identity profile] kiki-miserychic.livejournal.com 2010-02-09 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Part of the fun of making a vid is when I get to make the accompanying title card. :)

your editing is the perfect vehicle for an uneasy nightmare like this.
Best compliment I've gotten all day. Second best is when a student hugged me and said, "you're the best teacher to hug." He could have left it at that, but he went on to say it was because I'm squishy and wear soft sweaters...

[identity profile] kiki-miserychic.livejournal.com 2010-02-09 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks. Good thing it isn't that long.

[identity profile] kiki-miserychic.livejournal.com 2010-02-09 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks. I'm a fan of the music. The violin music is so beautiful.

[identity profile] kiki-miserychic.livejournal.com 2010-02-09 11:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm gaga over Fringe now. There aren't many shows I still watch, so finding a new one that isn't cancelled is great.

That's the video that started me watching it too! I got it off [livejournal.com profile] beccatoria.

I put the two pieces of music over each other to make it twice as creepy.

I didn't think I'd have enough footage at first, but I could have made a full length video once I started. I kept it a vidlet though. My thought was to get in and get out before going too long.

[identity profile] kiki-miserychic.livejournal.com 2010-02-09 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
I adore that piece of music from Young Frankenstein. I used to have my aunt play that part of the VHS tape over and over. I totally wore out the tape.
