Brad's Vidder Meme

What three professional music videos have had the biggest influence on you as a vidder?

I wanted to include so many, but I narrowed it down to these for various reasons that I want to make people guess about:

Jay Z's 99 Problems

The White Stripes' Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground

George Michael's Freedom! '90

I almost put Freedom '90 on my list. :D

That was one of my first favorite music videos. I love the structure of it.

FREEDOM!!!!! I had totally forgotten about that video. Hot women and shit burning on beat. There is no bad there.

I keep watching all of these looking for Whitney in them, but you're just so much more insane (the good kind) than anything I'm seeing here. I definitely see a bit of you in that White Stripes video, though.

Whenever Kim and I are watching TV and we see a commercial or movie segment go suddenly into jump cuts and static and POV filters and such, Kim says "Thank you, Whitney!" lulz

For realz. Who doesn't love hot ladies and shit burning?

There were a lot of videos I didn't put on here, like a lot of people, Push It from Garbage would have been on here too. Those creepy ass Village of the Damned kids.

im in ur brainz.

OMG FREEDOM! That was a revolutionary vid. Makes me want to explore the idea of how 'supermodels' basically lost their status by the end of the 90's and were replaced by actresses on the cover of Vogue.

And I totally see you in the Jay-Z vid but really in the White Stripes one. Something about that low budget, guerrilla feel of the filmmaking. Plus the layers.

YES! There was an article in Vogue or something that explored how actresses are now the spokespeople for makeup and other products, leaving models on the side.

:)

99 Problems!! Such a badass video. Definitely feels like you in terms of attitude.

FUCK YEAH. "You wouldn't bust a grape in a fruit fight" came into my typical phrases.
