WWWWWOOOOOWWW!

That was really, really amazing. I love the movie and you captured it all perfectly. =)

Wow this was really cool!
You did such a wonderful job capturing the huge scope of the film itself.
Plus, yeahhhh Lee Pace IS really hot lol ;)

Uh... wow. To the uninitiated, this movie looks quite.. odd.

Anyway. I came for the Tricky, and any intended meaning's being completely lost, but still. Wow.

OMG THE FALL VID.

...and it is SO GOOD. Such a great encapsulation of all the movie's gorgeousness and strangeness and emotion.

SO GOOD. *loves*

This, my dear, is some truly spectacular crazy shit. I didn't think Lee Pace could be hot in a long sleeveless man-dress, but you proved me oh-so-wrong. Hawt!

When I first watched the vid I thought of it as Bootystyle's similarly fucked-up sibling. But now upon rewatch I'm seeing it much more as a strangely beautiful and moving tale, full of fairytale monsters, heroes and villains underpinned by the friendship between the sick man and the little girl. It feels a lot more innocent than Bootystle in a lot of ways, though no less beautiful. It's a gorgeous vid, and I totally need to hunt down the movie.

Woah!

That was so, so trippy. And I need to find me a copy of the movie asap.

I am constantly amazed that there are not a million vids to The Fall; it's such a gorgeous film. You've taken full advantage of it here and highlighted the layer of real disturbance underlying all of the lush visuals. Very cool.

Ah, I love this movie so much. Mems. You guys are seriously killing me over here. Hahaha.

This was really amazing the way you used the music is so great it's hypnotic. I'm speechless this is a beautiful work of art your use of lyrics, visual connections and overall rhythm are just wonderful. Damn I didn't know CVV vids could be so emotional and I will definitely check this movie out.

[identity profile] beccatoria.livejournal.com 2009-08-15 10:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Dude. This vid. It's such a visually gorgeous video; you use that so, so well. And really captures the emotional core of the film. It's hypnotic, rhythmic and gorgeous.

I'm glad it's making so many people want to watch the movie.

oh my god, what is this move? why is it not in my life yet?!

this is such a gorgeous vid! i love everything about it. the contrast of the beautiful fairytale world with all those rich colours & fantastic happenings - and then the depressing hospital surroundings is amazing. and the movement & shiny, and ... *flails* i love it so much!
and then it's like the two worlds collide & merge, and the depressedness of reality (or something) invades the dream world - heartbreaking and still so lovely.

and tricky, WHEE!

*runs off to watch the movie*

It took me a couple of views to totally fall in love with this vid - but I did, especially after getting a little background on 'The Fall'. The music choice is perfect and the chosen clips pulled the story together brilliantly. Thanks for sharing it.

I have no idea what the fuck is going on in this vid but it doesn't seem to matter! (Well that's not true, I'm sure it would be even more awesome if I did know). But the whole concept of storytelling is so well framed and executed--the visual cues you use to slip in and out of the story-within-the story are just...holy hell I do not have an appropriate superlative. And your editing is monumentally gorgeous as always. I just want to knooow that little girl and her crazy, trippy, hopeful little mind!

Wow. I know nothing about the source (except hello! Gorgeous.) but this vid knocked me right over. Completely epic and compelling. Wow.

Lee Pace sort of seals the deal, but there is no way I'm not downloading to watch repeatedly and going to find this movie.

This vid knocks my socks off. It's just gorgeous, and I'm impressed at how accessible it is to those of us who haven't seen the film -- I can follow the story easily, and I get so involved with the characters. Love it.

I posted a rec here (http://laurashapiro.livejournal.com/280635.html), with more blathering about the vid's general awesomeness. (:

I don't know the source, but that is gorgeous. I love the intercutting of the drawing and the tattoos.

Directed here by [livejournal.com profile] beccatoria because I just saw this movie and loved it. Beautiful vid! I felt teary just watching it. You used such great images and the editing's outstanding. Just the companion to the movie I needed.

(Oh my god, where are all these people getting The Fall icons? Eeee.)

[identity profile] dma8845.livejournal.com 2010-03-30 07:39 am (UTC)(link)
wow, after seeing that, i gotta be the 10,000th person to say that it's amazing. I never heard of the movie before, makes me want to watch it, so I can see the 2nd level of the video, where the words really match :)

from what I can see, I love the look of it- the imaginary scenes have a really good surrealist quality to them, with the over-saturated colors (and crazy shit happening like trees lighting on fire, lol).

[identity profile] dualbunny.livejournal.com 2010-03-31 05:43 am (UTC)(link)
I saw Nicole mention The Fall and realized I had never actually been over here to leave feedback for this. ;} (Possibly I still maintain grand notions of doing a vid-review for last year...)

The movie is always so sweeping and wistful in my memory, and I'm so intrigued by how you've played up the more disturbing, disjointed, and tragic aspects here, without ever being untrue to the overall feel of the movie. And I was especially fascinated with how you used that increasing level of "old film" at the end to bring everything back to the film-reel watching scene. I was so caught up in the added unsettling feel of the distressed film, that I had no idea it was going to dovetail so fittingly--it was a wonderful surprise that I still can't believe snuck up on me. ;D

This is so shiny and colourful. I love the life and death contrast you have going on and the pacing of this. Awesome.

Oh, gosh, I love this vid so much. It rewards multiple viewings, and I've watched it so many times, already, before and after having seen the film. I'm planning on doing that twenty days of vids meme and this is one that I'm going to mention.

May I ask, is there any chance you could re-upload this? The Sendspace link is no longer valid, and I'd really love to have this on my hard drive to watch over and over again!
