Honestly, there have been times when I've looked around at my friends and thought, "I am tired of being caught in the tangle of their lives."

I think The Doctor could easily follow the same path as Doctor Manhattan. He cold get tired of Earth, humanity, and the rest of it. He could fuck off to the moon, kick back in a lawn chair, watching the planet and let us continue killing each other until there was nothing left. Then he'd go off and start his own world.
