A large part of my inspiration came from Jill Bolte Taylor's stroke of insight TED talk, which was linked by @Dichenlachman, who plays Dollhouse's Sierra. (Jill Bolte Taylor got a research opportunity few brain scientists would wish for: She had a massive stroke, and watched as her brain functions -- motion, speech, self-awareness -- shut down one by one. An astonishing story.)

Cuz that was *fucking aamaaaaaazing* It's weird, for a show that uses high stakes and action scenes, I have been disturbingly under-engaged. This is fucking awesome. I knew it was going to be awesome but still that didn't quite prepare me for just how awesome it was. I LOVE the ambiguity in this, how it can be read differently by both sides of the conversation, and I started laughing at the "shut up if you can't take a joke" and couldn't stop. shiiiiiiiiit this is GOOD. i've actually never listened to the remix (or the original) so i had no idea the female voice would come in, and it was AMAZING. the visual amazingness goes without saying, since it's one of your vids, but god DAMN. i cannot believe how well this worked. and i actually haven't seen any dollhouse, though i know what it's about, and this was coherent and BEAUTIFUL and just SHARP.

--and actually there are so many layers of meta i could go into about violence/male rage (and the rumors around the same time of Bale hitting his mom or sister, i forget which, but that inevitably comes into play, plus images of him from his movies) turned into art. GOD I LOVE THIS.

Holy shit! That was awesome! I haven't seen Dollhouse, but this vid made me feel angry and yet fascinated. Kind of like being in a club where weird hormones were pumpng through the air vents or something. The effects work at the end was especially jaw dropping. Inspired song choice. Awesome.

I hate to say it but Bale really pains my ears and not just in this instance. It works so well for this, though.The breakdown and loss of control in the audio is well matched to the theme. The sensory overload in the visuals and Bale flipping out in the audio. I love that when Echo gains more self awareness the colouring and lighting is no longer creating a disorientating effect culminating in her taking control with the female voice shouting "shut the fuck up."
