This is so beautiful. I love the way you weave time here. I haven't seen any of the source except Merlin, which gives it a feeling of prophesy too--knowing the story but not the exact part that is in question at a given time. I liked beccatoria's comment; all this has happened before, all this has happened again, but perhaps differently this time.
