Mary, carry your babe
Bound up tight like lips around a whimper
Your fingers over my face
Blind-eyed Samson driven to the temple
And night birds digging 'til dawn
Freedom hangs like heaven over everyone
Ain't nobody knows what a newborn holds
But his mama says he'll walk on water
And wander back home
Wander back home

Mary, carry your shame
Well past all those eyes across the avenue
Fish heads running from rain
You know I'll do anything you want me to
Lamp oil lovers may say,
"freedom hangs like heaven over everyone"
Ain't nobody knows what a newborn holds
But his papa's goin'a hide shaking gristle
And shaking like bone
Shaking like bone

Mary, carry my name
Hoof marks hacked up all I had to offer you
Looked all over this place
Lost your portrait lately when the winter blew
In like herod and them
Freedom hangs like heaven over everyone
Ain't nobody knows what a newborn holds
But a dollar says he'll lick the devil
And do it alone
Do it alone
Do it alone

Whoa. This vid is intense. The word I would use to describe the cutting is "relentless." It pulls you in and doesn't let you go until the final frame has stopped running. Because, frankly, I have no interest in "Veritas," and yet I couldn't tear my eyes away from the vid. Brilliant job!

Thanks. I was trying to make it interesting for people who knew nothing about the show. I figured inducing seizures was the best way to go. :)

A baseball player once said about a legendary teammate: "I play baseball. He plays a game with which I am unfamiliar."

Well, I vid. You do something with which I am unfamiliar.

I never know what to expect from your videos except that they're going to be (1) completely different than anything I've seen before and (2) incredibly impressive.

Your use of light and motion here is just *insane*! It's downright hypnotic. You just can't look away, and when the vid ends it's like you're waking up from a beautiful but strange dream.

I want to come back when I have a bit more time and leave timestamps... that's assuming I can tear my eyes away from it while it's actually playing.

Wow, you are too kind to me. And I'm so glad you said all those things to my widdle ego.

I was worried about this vid more than any other I've done because it was for someone else and it had a deadline, which I surpassed miserably.

Originally I was trying to make it more like the mainstream series overview vids, but it wasn't me. I tossed my first vid out, which I've never done before. In the first one I was basically saying, "here is this show and the reasons you should like it," but that wasn't me and it was dreadful. Once I started over with idea: "this is a show you should watch and the reasons I like it", then I finished it in a week with minimal chewing on my own hair.

Finally getting caught up on feedback. I love the use of motion and manipulated clip speed in this. As always it has a very unique flavor that feels distinctly 'you,' without seeming like a retread of your previous work. Very interesting use of light and color too. I don't know how much of that was you and how much was source, but whatever the case, it looked pretty damn cool. ;)

I have a horribly large amount of feedback to catch up on as well, so you're not alone.

Thank you. A lot of times the manipulated clip speed isn't so much style as function in that I need to get from point A to point B in the clip, but I only have two and a half seconds to fit in a 3 second clip, so I speed it up.

The basis for my color changing is present in the source, but I did mess with the levels and coloring on every clip to get them where I wanted them.
